Poststreptococcal Glomerulonephritis

Definition

Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN) is a kidney disease that develops after skin or throat infections caused by Group A streptococcus. PSGN is more common in children than adults. Typically, kidney disease occurs around 1-3 weeks after the initial infection. Most people recover within a few weeks without complications.
