Definition

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common anxiety disorder. Those affected are plagued by unwanted and uncontrollable thoughts (obsessions - for example, fear of contamination), and mentals acts or behaviors (compulsions - for example, counting or handwashing) that they repeat over and over again in an attempt to relieve the anxiety.
