Definition
Hemophilia is an inherited condition where blood doesn't clot normally due to insufficient amounts of proteins called clotting factors. As a result, those affected bleed for longer than normal. Bleeds can occur inside the body, into muscles and joints, or externally from cuts or injury. Treatment involves replacement of the reduced clotting factors.
