Position Overview

We are a medical communications company serving the needs of the pharmaceutical industry as they develop and market their products. The successful candidate will support the product team and be creative, curious, and pay strict attention to detail. Strong color, typography, and illustrative skills are a huge win. This is a hybrid role with a combination of design and production techniques. And finally, you’re a problem solver and collaborator who is passionate about great design.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Professionally design original pieces of work for full campaign activation across traditional and digital channels such as: long format documents, logos, icons, illustrations, editorial design, charts and graphs, flow diagrams, infographics, presentation visuals, social media, web banners, static and rich banner ads, email campaigns, email templates and more
  • Clearly understands and follows file naming/folder/server structure and organizes brand assets
  • Follows direction yet has a clear perspective about design choices
  • Maintains quality control by adhering to agency process, brand guidelines, proper layout, and conceptual execution, throughout all phases of campaign execution
  • Communicates with team members at all times regarding deadlines, revisions, quality control, and new work
  • Works effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Present creative concepts and articulate creative rationale to internal team members and clients
  • Able to defend strengths of existing concepts, while remaining open to input and further explorations
  • Interprets data from clinical studies, presentations, and published papers; and looks for creative opportunities to visualize data clearly and effectively
  • Understands the creative brief and the role it plays in creative development and client management
  • Supports the design and development of presentations, and course corrects in a way that is most beneficial to the client
  • Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the client’s marketing strategy that challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrates balance between creative innovation and the need to meet business requirements
  • Knowledge of current design trends and the ability to elevate design through print, digital and social platforms
  • Strong understanding of color, logos, branding systems and typography best practices
  • Understands brand guidelines and accurately implements them
  • Works closely with other creatives and across agency disciplines

Candidate Qualifications

Skills & Knowledge

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Exceptional creativity and design skills, with a strong sense of tasteful design, layout, typography, color,  illustrations and photography
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well within a team setting
  • Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strict attention to details
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Mac applications
  • Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management & planning skills
  • Healthcare experience is a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, graphic communications, visual arts, or related field 

Candidate Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience in a creative role or equivalent work experience
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Expert working knowledge of print production, paragraph styles, character styles, layout, mockups and typography
  • A compelling and diverse portfolio reflecting expertise in design, typography, layout, and general artistry
